La la la Life

{all hearth activity done with proper adult supervision}

So I found out this afternoon that my son can crawl up on the hearth. He turned around and sat criss cross applesauce (I guess that is the politically correct way to say that sitting position now) and looked at me like, "What? This is how I always watch TV."

No, Son. No, it is not.

So anyway, that was a big first for me. Climbing.

Also, it is difficult (if not impossible) to work from home if someone cries each time you pick up your laptop.

I downloaded Insurgent today, but as I am currently re-reading Mr. Darcy's Diary (on the Kindle app, seeing as how I am currently addicted to e-books), it'll probably be next week before I get to it.

I have a hair appointment for Friday. This is great because 1. my hair is a bit long right now and 2. fluorescent lights do not have the same lightening effect on hair as they do on colored paper. (If you work in an office, that's an experiment you should try sometime if you have not.) Fortunately, my hair is a shade that my roots don't show all that much. At least that is what my stylist tells me, and I choose to believe her. I will probably ask her another annoying question about dry shampoo. Standby for an update next week.

My car is in the shop. I'm driving a practically brand-new one. The new car smell is incredibly tempting. But I love my current car. It's probably the best car I've ever owned. I don't want a new one. Statements like this make me feel very mature and responsible, which is funny since I just ate icing from a can as a snack. Please tell me you do this too.

Such a riveting life I lead. Happy Wednesday to you, friends.

  1. Whoa. I preordered Insurgent a while back after finishing Divergent and didn't even know it was on my Nook yet. I'm pretty sure I know what I'll be doing this weekend. :) Thanks for the heads up!
Side note, what car do you drive that you like so much? I have a 11 year old Pathfinder that I've driven for the past 10 years and still like it! I'm hoping it holds on a few more years without any major issues before we buy an upgrade.

    1. Fun! I couldn't help myself and stayed up late to read it last night. So good!

I have a Toyota 4runner. I might look at the Highlander next--it has a great third row seat and drives more like a car than a truck, but still an SUV.

  2. Oh my gosh, I miss Paul's Kindle right now! The list for Divergent is ten people long...I'm on it but it will be a WHILE.

I love this post - so funny. I eat Nutella straight from the jar...that's pretty much the same thing. =)

    1. That's the truth. I remember when my brother was little, he climbed onto the hearth, then on top of his cozy coupe, the jumped off, resulting in a trip to see our dentist in his front yard on a Sunday.

So...."Jack, get down from there right now!!!"

  4. I love icing from a can! And good to know about your car (and the Hoghlander.) I drive a little Jeep Liberty and it's been great, but a little on the teensy side with a carseat.

    1. I'm a little concerned how the backseat will fare with a second car seat if/when it comes to that, but it is great for right now.

I love the pics you've been posting. The land you live on looks awesome!

  5. Curious about Mr. Darcy's diary. Husband is reading Divergent, and I'm planning to read it this summer. I sneak peaked it and liked it too. I eat chocolate chips.

    1. If you love P&P, you would love Mr. Darcy's Diary. It's P&P written from Darcy's perspective, and it's very faithful to the original story, but of course some things are made up since it's from a different viewpoint than we didn't have.

      Divergent is awesome!
