The Summer of the Ponytail

I can't believe I've let so much time pass since I last updated. We have been busy living life, rather than documenting I guess!

Over the past month we have had friends and family in and out of our home. I'm pretty sure that I receive the blessing when we have company. I love it. We've celebrated a birthday and started the new Sunday school year with our new Sunday school classes. We've worked a lot, loved a lot, and had a lot of fun.

Here are just a smattering of the pictures I have on my camera that have been begging to be downloaded. Nearly every picture I've been in this summer, my hair has been in a ponytail. I don't know how that happened because 6 days out of 7, I fix it. I promise.

While my husband was at the church men's retreat
(where he managed to play 3 rounds of golf in two days),
Alisia and I were ladies who lunch (and then see Julie & Julia.)

And I had a girls' night with dessert at Simply Fondue.

Because it was my birthday, I ate Mexican food 4 times within
a 5 day period. Joe T's is my favorite, so we ate there twice. YUM.
Here's my fam. Aren't families the best?!?

More fun coming soon!

Arts and Crafts

I've been really lazy had this project on hold for quite some time now, and my mom has been after me to finish it up for her.

I love the different ways people are taking remnants from old houses and making them new again. Older architectural elements from homes are showing up all over design blogs and mags. Everyone's going green, even in their home decor.

{this one's hanging right off our entry}

While I was painting this screen, I imagined the home it might have come off of. In my mind it is from a quaint little town where kids rode their bikes up and down the sidewalks in summer. But in reality it probably came off of a demo in the middle of big city to make room for another service station. Such is the world today.

{Here's yours Mama--come see me to pick it up!}

At least now it will have a lovely new home.
